The look of the Optima doesn't disappoint. The aerodynamic shape and forward stance give the sedan a coupe-like, sporty look. The tiger nose grill and contoured sides only add to that sports car impression. On the inside, the available leather seats with contrasting stitching provide style and luxury. When you include a flat bottom steering wheel and a sunroof that extends over the front and back row, you can obviously see that the Kia Optima is not your average sedan.

The Optima is also full of useful technology. The UVO system makes for easy smart phone connection for hands-free calls. It provides access to 24 hour roadside assistance and gives you the ability to schedule vehicle maintenance. With Apple Car Play and Android Auto, you can connect your phone to the Optima's touch screen and run apps from there. The Optima also has the ability to send destinations to your in-car GPS system, find restaurants and gas stations--all with a single touch.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the answer is yes. The 2018 Optima has a 5-star crash test rating and general safety rating. The Optima has plenty to warrant this safety endorsement. Autonomous Emergency Braking and Forward Collision Warning help avoid frontal collisions. Lane Departure Warning and Blind Spot Detection help avoid highway collisions from the side. Rear Parking Assist and Rear cross Traffic Alert make parking and backing out safe too. The SurroundView Monitor, Rear view back up camera, and smart cruise control don't hurt either.

Generally speaking, because the Optima is a smaller vehicle, it is going to be better on gas. The Optima can get up to 37 mpg on the highway, which is up there with some of the most fuel efficient vehicles on the market.
